M City was Reds’ very first job in Victoria. Located at 2109-2125 Dandenong Road on the corner of Princess Highway and Blackburn Road, it is one of the largest master-planned community single stage developments ever undertaken in the state. The 30,000m² site has a combined built area over 18 hectares. It forms an iconic gateway to Melbourne’s South East growth corridor. 

The landmark mixed use development includes four residential buildings ranging from 3 to 12 levels, with a total of some 665 apartments. It also features a 4.5 star international hotel.  

Working to extremely tight timeframes, the massive site required six tower cranes in total, of which Reds Global supplied three, using our Terex CTL 430-24 electric tower cranes. With more than 40,000 precast panels used on the project, mobile cranes also featured heavily. The multiple towers on site meant that we needed to be mindful of CASA height restrictions as the buildings progressed. Permits were adjusted as the project advanced, meaning we could increase the reach of the crane booms accordingly.
